I just found a great map on locally dominating social networks around the globe here.
It shows that Facebook is the number one social network in most countries - but that to find your audience in some countries you need to go beyond that. In Europe the big exceptions are Netherlands (with Hyves), Portugal and Romania (with Hi5), Czech Rep. (with Lidé), Poland (with Nasza-klasa), Hungary (with Iwiw), the Baltics (with One and Orkut), Moldavia (with Odnoklassniki) and Russia, Belarus and Ukraine (all with V Kontakte).
Again, even in the age of globalization you need to think local when you want to reach your audience. Global outreach is certainly easier than ever before - but things are in permanent flow and this map may look different next year.
Nothing is more terrible than ignorance in action.

Parents should carefully look at the schools they are sending their children too. Money, especially tax dollars, should not be wasted on such worthless and bigoted events. A law school should be ashamed at holding a seminar to discuss such man-hating tripe.

Blasdales Hi to all the Blasdales! I'm currently rraisecheng my family tree and think I may have discovered a link with the Blasdale family in Nottingham. My fathers' name is Michael Hallam-Clarke (and his father was George Hallam-Clarke) and I'd had no luck with name My father has recently found a limited family tree that his father George drew up and it appears that Georges' father (my great grandfather) was an Arthur Blasdale from Nottingham. We think he was married to a Beatrice Mary Adams (her maiden name?) and they had 7 children John Arthur, Edward Adams, Roland Harry, James Blasdale, Harold (nickname Jelly), George (my grandfather) and Beatrice Jennifer (who we think was known as Jenny and married a vicar called Aggasi). At some point the family name changed to Clarke and we believe Arthur (and family) moved to Ramsgate in Kent where he was the Town Clerk. Does this tie into any existing Blasdale tree?
